A State of Trance
- February 07, 2015
- Party
I’ve always loved trance, and one of the creators of trance as we know it is Armin van Buuren. His “A State of Trance” parties (usually referred to as ASOT) are a coming together of music, lights, lasers, dancers, video production, and anything else you can possibly imagine.

Party Like A Rockstar

So after we finished in Vegas, we thought we’d have a couple of quiet nights in Los Angeles. Of course, that’s not what actually happened. In fact, there was a slight turn of events that helped me tick this item off the bucket list. It’s not something I thought I’d ever really get to do properly. But I did. And it was awesome.

What. A. Week. We made the movie “The Hangover” look like a PG-rated family movie. I don’t think I can go into all the details, because some of them are pretty foggy. But here’s the play-by-play breakdown:

Electric Daisy Carnival is the largest electronic dance music festival in the world. And while it hits cities all around the US, the holy grail is definitely Las Vegas, selling 320,000 tickets both in 2012 and 2013. That’s a LOT of people. It’s the biggest party week anywhere in the world, and there was no way I was missing it.

The line-up for this festival gets better and better every year. It’s one of the best-known EDM festivals in the world, with the event having been held in countries all over Europe and South America. Armin Van Buuren In Ibiza
- August 17, 2010
- Party
This was a major dream of mine. I’ve loved his music for as long as I can remember. I had all his albums, listened to all his podcasts and watched YouTube videos of his DJ sets all over the world with anticipation and excitement. Every time I spoke to somebody who had seen him live, an overwhelming feeling of jealousy and slight hatred washed over me.

Picture this: You’re on the beautiful island of Mykonos in Greece. It’s July – peak season. It’s 25°C at 11pm. You’re on your way to what was for many years one of the best clubs in the world. It’s completely outdoors, full of beautiful and tanned people, and there’s a huge swimming pool in the middle.

Be A Bartender For A Night
- May 22, 2010
- Party
So many people I knew had at one stage of their lives done some form of bartending. Whether at a club, bar, pub, warehouse party, house party or friend’s birthday. They had been in charge of the drink-pouring, and done a (mostly) great job. But it’s more than that. The lure of bartending comes from the stories you hear from the bartenders themselves.

True music lovers always want to meet the band. To get to shake the hands of the people who make them sing and dance like a crazy person, who motivate and inspire them. It’s only natural that you’d want to meet those responsible for putting you into such an elevated state of being.
