The northern lights have fascinated me endlessly since I first learned about them growing up. How could something be so beautiful, and yet so few of us get to see it? I felt like seeing the northern lights could be a life changing experience for me. This was at the very top of my bucket list.

Ice Hotel

Located just outside of Kiruna in Sweden’s far north, the Ice Hotel is an incredible yearly project that attracts thousands of tourists every winter season. They pull all the ice out of the frozen Torne River, and when the hotel melts in summer, all the water flows back to it’s place of origin. This makes it not just one of the most impressive construction project in the world, but also one of the most environmentally-friendly. read more
Snowmobiling

No people. No traffic. Wide open spaces. Raw power. Then, suddenly, the track turns sharply and takes you straight through the forest. The windy path between trees is breathtaking. As you duck and weave the snow-covered branches, you can’t help but feel like an explorer.

My obsession with watching National Geographic impacted on me quite heavily as a child. I fell in love with animals and the wilderness. It wasn’t long before cheetahs became my favourite animal – and remain so to this day. read more
